Relaxation / Therapeutic Massage
Massage therapy is extremely beneficial to people leading busy lifestyles suffering from what is now commonly encountered work related stress. Massage will not only aid with mental relaxation but will work on physical symptoms of back and neck pain that comes from sitting for an extended period of time at a desk or from physical labour.
The importance of taking regular massage has heightened in recent times as more people recognise how beneficial it is as a way to counteract the effects of sitting in front of a computer screen daily. Corporations are beginning to realise these benefits for staff wellbeing and as a way to increase productivity. By offering mobile massage therapy as a part of employee benefits in the workplace it could go a long way to help reduce staff stress levels, which in turn will make for a more cooperative relaxed work environment, and then aid productivity. More obviously if employers spend on massage for their staff they might reduce the cost of lost labour through sick days. Work related stress is a serious problem in society leading to poor health, disease, and death. This situation might be helped if employers take the opportunity to enlist the services of a professional Massage Therapist who will educate about the benefits of relaxation and massage.
Many people wait until they are already in pain or suffering spinal injuries before turning to massage, but why let it get that bad? It is a good idea to take regular massage as a preventative measure so that such injuries do not occur. Regular massage maintenance will increase your overall sense of wellbeing for optimum physical and mental health, helping you to achieve your goals.
Massage is used to treat a wide range of disorders, such as:

Remedial Massage
This is a therapeutic deep tissue massage that can treat specific health issues, musculoskeletal problems and injuries. It provides wonderful relaxation if you are stressed and soothes sore, tired muscles.
Massage therapy supports and speeds up the body's own repair mechanisms by stimulating the blood supply to allow toxins in the muscle to be removed.
It also calms the peripheral nervous system to ease pain and discomfort and tones and relaxes muscles to improve joint mobility. Passive joint stretching moves are also used.
Ancient Hawaiian Ka Huna Massage
This ancient Polynesian massage technique promotes deep relaxation, releases stress and tension from the body and mind, is physically re-energising and rejuvenating and offers the opportunity for self-awareness, self-acceptance and self-love.
The rhythmic, flowing nature of Hawaiian massage invites surrender... the mind calms to the ebb and flow, thus allowing the relaxation of the mind's control of the body, allowing the body to do what it does best; self nourish, heal and balance. it is an empowering experience which will leave you feeling more balanced, content, peaceful and happy.
Hot Stone Therapy
Another beautiful gift from the Polynesian culture - a massage that utilises hands and heated stones of all shapes and sizes to fit the different muscles of the body.
The heat from the stones increases the depths of relaxation. Muscles joyously release tension and receive nurturing from the rhythm and sensation of the smooth hot stones - likened to waves undulating upon the shore.
Chakra Balancing Massage
“Using the aspects of colour, sound, essential oils and massage can help restore harmony and balance to the bodies energy system”
The seven main energy centres are known as chakras. Located from the base of the spine to the crown of the head. Each chakra is a primary energy area, linking physical, spiritual, mental and emotional wellbeing. For maximum vitality and health to be present, balance must be maintained between the chakras. When we go through emotional trauma it often results in the chakras being out of balance, hence a feeling of lack of energy, depression, etc.
The equilibrium bottles contain the living energies of herbs, essential oils, crystal energies, the energies from the Chalice Well and colour. Within the bottles is a perfect balance to restore the healing within. Specific bottles have been designated for specific chakras.
In this massage technique you may experience much healing, a sense of awareness, of balance. Each person is an individual; each has their own experience, which is right for them. Touch someone’s life and allow someone to touch yours. Remember, in healing yourself you heal the world.

Shiatsu - Bodywork Dynamics
This is an ancient Japanese form of body therapy based on the principles of Traditional Oriental Medicine to ensure the recipient's energy flows freely and smoothly, and that body, mind and spirit are all in harmony and balance. In Japanese the word “shi” means finger and “atsu” means pressure.
Thoughtfully applied techniques work all parts of the body holistically – sometimes encouraging emotional release. These may include finger and thumb pressure, gentle touch, palming, footwork, joint rotations, supportive holding or full body contact techniques, often coordinated with yoga-like stretches and sometimes with oil massage.
All techniques are applied either over clothing or on bare skin, depending on the needs of the recipient, who is encouraged to work in unison with the practitioner.
Sessions are carried out at floor level, on a futon, however, some clients can be worked on while sitting on a chair or on a table. Thin, loose clothing is preferable. You should not eat for one hour before treatment.
Simple breathing techniques are taught along with stretching exercises, the aim being to restore dynamic health in body and mind.
